About the Editor:
Welcome to my website. Please allow me introduce myself. My name is Melanie Austin, and I am the editor-in-residence here. My love of the English language has shaped the course of my career. It's no accident that I ended up as a free-lance editor/writer and part-time ESL tutor.
Much of my life has been centered on and around the written word. I grew up in a family of bibliophiles; spent much of my childhood immersed in books; earned a doctorate in English; taught writing, literature, and the humanities to college students; and published book reviews, stories, and poems. I just completed my ESL certificate through Seattle University to be better able to assist ESL clients.
During the past twenty-odd years, I have edited a variety of manuscripts, including a civil engineering handbook, several theses and dissertations, book-length manuscripts, short stories, reports, essays, letters, plays, and poetry. I established Seattle Editorial Services in 2007. Now that I am online, my clients come from near and far.
